Omega-7 Community Charter

Purpose

The Omega-7 Community is established to be a safe and fun place to game with friends. The community will have set officially played games where players of the community will be encouraged to play together to achieve goals established for the game. The community is primarily collected via the Omega-7 Discord where voice chat is recommended when playing officially played games.

Officially Played Games

Games established by the Board as officially played games of the community automatically receive a text channel and at least one voice channel within the official Discord server. These games are to encourage players to group up or play on a particular server to achieve some goal while offering an enjoyable experience. Typically the Board will set a player the role of Director to oversee the game, but not necessarily depending on the game and the Board’s decision. The Board also has the right to revoke an officially played game as they choose.

Ranks

To encourage more community involvement and better organization within the community, ranks have been established. Below are the ranks from lowest to highest.

Recruit– Beginning players of the community. Any members of the Board can give this rank to players who have joined the official Discord server.

Member– Regular players of the community. Once a player of the Recruit rank has proven their willingness of playing within this community, they can be promoted by any member of the Board in Discord.

Senior Member– Members of the community who have gone beyond what is expected of them on a normal basis can be promoted to this honorary rank with a majority decision from the Board.

Subcommander– Players who take on leadership roles within the community. A Subcommander has demonstrated their ability to lead players and has been asked by the Board to take on this rank. The player must accept the Board’s request of promotion to be given this rank.

Commander– Players who oversee the community’s leadership and actively take leadership roles. Players must have demonstrated their longstanding commitment to the community and have proven themselves as capable leaders. New Commanders must be appointed by the High Commander and then approved by the current Board. The player must accept the Board’s request of promotion to be given this rank.

High Commander– The owner of the Omega-7 Community. The High Commander will typically own or oversee the hosting being provided for applicable officially played games and ensure the smooth operation of the community as a whole.

Roles

Director– Oversees an officially played game for the community. Will typically set goals and do their best to lead players in the game. The Board appoints this role to a player.

Advisor– Assists a Director for an officially played game. A Director may designate their Advisors, or the Board may assign Advisors to a Director. An Advisor role can also be given by any member of the Board for a non-officially played game whenever deemed necessary.

Board Member– Members of the Omega-7 Community Board. These members can vote on any proposed motions brought to the Board. They also gain any powers granted to them described elsewhere in this document.

The Omega-7 Community Board

Also referred to as only the Board, the Omega-7 Community Board makes all the major decisions within the community. The Board will vote to determine officially played games, ranks when necessary, and any other decisions that are not made by other players. All the main disputes in the community must be brought to the Board for a final determination. The Board will host Board Meetings to make any decisions. The players of the rank of Commander and High Commander are automatically members of the Board. Other players may be given terms of Board membership as decided by the current Board members. However, a major majority of at least 75% of Board Members must be in agreeance to approve a player for a term. All other decisions by the Board are made by a simple majority unless otherwise stated. The High Commander sets the time, date, and location of Board Meetings.

The possible Board Meetings are as follows:

Community Meeting– Meetings that can be attended by players of the community. These meetings have the option to have community contribution. Must be announced at least the day before the meeting.

Private Board Meeting– Only Board Members attend to discuss the motions proposed with the option of Board Members to invite guests to make any proposals or to present a case.

Emergency Meeting– All available players called upon at the moment of calling the meeting into session. Only the High Commander can issue this meeting, and all decisions are reached by all attendees who choose to vote. A major majority (75%) of participants must agree to any proposals to be passed.

Clauses and Exceptions

Board Meeting Tiebreaker– In the event of a tie for a simple majority vote within the Board, the High Commander’s vote will count as two.

Command Override– The High Commander and Commanders have the authority to override a command decision (excluding Board Meeting votes) by a member of a lesser rank. These overrides can be disputed in a Board Meeting if necessary.

Auto-No Vote– In the event that a Board member is not in attendance of a Board Meeting where votes are taking place and have not communicated their vote(s) prior, they automatically vote no.

Discord Etiquette– The Discord Etiquette Guide that is maintained by the Board should be obeyed while using the Omega-7 Discord.

Automatic Recruit– The MEE6 bot has the ability to grant the Recruit rank without involving a Board Member.
